Super Brick Breaker Tips — Power-Up Priority, Teleporter Strategy, and How to Use the Safety Net

· By Vibe Arcade · 6 min read

Super Brick Breaker is a breakout game where not every falling power-up is worth catching. Two of the eight power-ups actively hurt your play. Teleporter bricks change the ball's trajectory unexpectedly. The Safety Net gives you exactly one mistake for free, but only if you time it well. This guide covers all of it.

Power-Up Priority: Catch or Avoid?

Eight power-ups drop from destroyed bricks. Six help you. Two will make things worse if you catch them. Here's the full breakdown:

Safety Net — Catch FirstTemporary catch net at the bottom prevents the next ball loss. The highest-priority catch whenever it drops. Always worth repositioning for.
Grow — CatchWider paddle. More control, easier angle management. One of the most consistently useful power-ups in the game.
Multi-Ball — CatchSplits the ball into multiple simultaneous balls. Clears bricks much faster. Harder to track, but the brick clearance rate makes it worth it.
Laser — CatchFire a laser cannon with a quick tap. Useful for targeting specific bricks — especially isolated clusters the ball keeps missing. Tap rapidly for maximum output.
Multi — CatchSpawns a second paddle. Doubles your coverage at the bottom. Particularly useful in levels where the ball speed is high and one paddle isn't enough.
Metal — SituationalReinforced paddle for harder hits. Most valuable in later levels where brick walls are denser. Less critical in early levels where the standard paddle is sufficient.
Shrink — AvoidNarrower paddle. Ball becomes harder to control and reach. If it drops near you during a critical moment, move away from it. The label and color are visible — learn to recognize it quickly.
Mirror — Avoid if Low LivesAlters ball reflection angles for a short period. The physics become temporarily unreliable. Survivable with full lives; potentially run-ending when you're at one life and already managing a fast ball.
Catch priority order: Safety Net → Grow → Multi-Ball → Laser → Multi → Metal. Avoid Shrink. Avoid Mirror when low on lives.

Understanding Teleporter Bricks

Teleporter bricks look slightly different from regular bricks — learn the visual signature early, because they change the rules for any ball that hits them. When the ball contacts a teleporter, it instantly warps to another position on the board.

The two things to know about teleporters:

  1. They can save a ball heading for the gutter. A ball on a clear downward trajectory toward the sides or bottom — one you'd normally have to scramble to catch — might hit a teleporter first and reappear in a completely different position. When that happens, reposition immediately. The new trajectory won't be where you expect it.
  2. They're a calculated gamble, not a hazard. A ball heading toward a difficult-to-hit isolated brick cluster? If there's a teleporter nearby, banking on it isn't a mistake — it's a read. Experienced players learn which teleporter positions tend to redirect balls to advantageous spots.

The main danger with teleporters is cognitive: you were tracking the ball's trajectory, and then it changed. Keep your eyes on the ball's new position immediately after any teleport, not the spot where it disappeared.

Using the Safety Net Correctly

The Safety Net catches the ball if it falls below your paddle's reach. It doesn't reset your position — after the catch, you serve the ball again from the bottom. The key rules:

Angle Control Basics

Ball trajectory in Super Brick Breaker is determined by where on the paddle the ball makes contact. Center contact sends the ball nearly straight up. Edge contact produces sharper angles toward the sides. This is standard breakout physics — but worth being explicit about because the right angle for clearing a level changes constantly.

Multi-Ball Management

Multi-Ball is one of the highest-upside power-ups in the game and one of the most chaotic to play through. When multiple balls are active simultaneously, here's how to manage it:
