How to Play Marquee

Marquee is a classic 75-ball bingo-hall arcade built for the browser — no card stock, no dauber ink, no waiting for Tuesday night. At the start of each round a fresh 5×5 BINGO card is dealt from the full 75-ball range (B: 1–15, I: 16–30, N: 31–45, G: 46–60, O: 61–75) with the center square pre-daubed as a FREE space. The brass tumbler globe above the card begins churning, and every 1.8 seconds a ball ejects and the call marquee announces the letter-number pair (e.g. "G-52"). Tap any cell on your card whose number has been called to daub it. When you spot a completed row, column, or diagonal, press the BINGO button to claim the win.

The catch: the BINGO claim is validated. If your line is incomplete, the claim registers as a false call and costs you a strike — three of them end a Classic or Pattern round, two end a Blitz round. You cannot daub your way into a bad claim by accident: tapping a cell whose number has not been called does nothing at all. Speed matters too: every ball left in the round's 60-ball allowance when you claim BINGO is worth +5 bonus points, so claiming on ball 20 is far more rewarding than waiting until ball 55.

Three Modes

Classic is the familiar format — 1.8-second ball cadence, 60-ball cap, 3 strikes, standard speed bonus (+5 per remaining ball). Blitz cranks the cadence to 0.9 seconds, shrinks the cap to 30 balls, and doubles the speed bonus to +10 per remaining ball — pure reflex mode with 2 strikes before game over. Pattern keeps Classic's cadence but swaps the win condition: Round 1 requires Four-Corners (200 base points), Round 2 an X-shape (400 base) and Round 3 a full-card Blackout (1000 base), after which the three shapes cycle again from Four-Corners. Each mode runs its own leaderboard so scores are always compared fairly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I claim BINGO without a strike?
Check your card before clicking BINGO — make sure an entire row, column, or diagonal (or the required pattern in Pattern mode) is fully daubed with called numbers. Only cells whose numbers the caller has announced count. False claims cost a strike: three end a Classic or Pattern round, two end a Blitz round. Tapping a cell whose number has not been called does nothing at all, so a false claim is always a misread line, never a stray daub.
What is the difference between Classic, Blitz, and Pattern modes?
Classic calls a ball every 1.8 seconds with a 60-ball limit, 3 strikes, and a +5-per-remaining-ball speed bonus. Blitz calls every 0.9 seconds with a 30-ball limit, 2 strikes, and a double +10 speed bonus — pure reflex play. Pattern mode uses Classic's cadence but requires a specific winning shape each round: Four-Corners (round 1, 200 pts base), X-shape (round 2, 400 pts), or Full-Card-Blackout (round 3, 1000 pts) — and the three shapes then repeat, so round 4 is Four-Corners again.
What is the speed bonus and how do I maximize it?
Every ball left in the round's allowance — 60 balls in Classic, 30 in Blitz — is worth +5 points when you claim (+10 in Blitz). Spot near-complete lines early and claim before too many balls are called: a 15-ball BINGO in Classic scores 100 base + 45×5 speed = 325, while a 50-ball BINGO scores only 100 + 10×5 = 150. Two other bonuses stack on top before the streak multiplier — +50 for finishing the round without a strike, and +250 if your claim completes two lines at once.
Why is there no Daily Marquee mode?
Vibe Arcade already ships four daily-format puzzle games (Mini-Cross, Honeycomb, Tracewords, Vibewords). Marquee is intentionally session-mode-only — every round is a fresh random deal, and you can play as many rounds as you want in a sitting without waiting for a daily reset. The three leaderboard modes (Classic / Blitz / Pattern) provide the long-term competition structure instead.
Can I enable Auto-Daub?
Yes — tick the Auto-Daub box on the start menu, next to Mute, before you press START; the setting is read when the round begins. When enabled, every called ball that appears on your card is daubed automatically. It is off by default because manually tapping your cells is the core bingo-hall feel and keeps you engaged enough to spot near-lines quickly. Auto-Daub does not affect the BINGO claim — you still press the button and the game still validates the line.
Does Marquee work on mobile and tablets?
Yes. All card cells have a minimum 44×44 px tap target, the BINGO button is 160×60 px minimum and sits directly beneath the card for easy thumb access, and the 5-column grid scales down cleanly to a 360 px viewport with no horizontal scrolling. The animated bulb ring, ball tumbler, and confetti all use canvas which runs smoothly on modern mobile browsers. Touch-action: manipulation is applied globally to prevent double-tap zoom delays.
